Surround Yourself With Extraordinary!!

Value the friendship of the saints.

Never forget that you have so many friends and intercessors in heaven! Talk to them. They are fantastic  teachers and counselors.

Invite them for a visit. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THEM. You'll never be lonely, or without help. Ever. :>)
Find ways to tap into more and more of the extraordinary and at times unfathomable supernatural experiences that come from embracing the majestic full expression of your Catholic faith. Strive to make it your way of life to accomplish God's most perfect will.

Imitate the Saints, learn from them, be empowered by them!  Be humble, grow, learn, and serve, always loving in greater measure.

Eat lunch with the Franciscans: invite St. Francis and St. Anthony. Ask Servant of God, Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. to help you learn your faith, so you can defend it and never take it for granted.

Say the Rosary with St. John Bosco and his mother while having breakfast! In a jam? Ask St. Jude and St. Rita to come to the rescue. Take a quiet walk with Christ Himself. Ask, and heaven will not refuse!

Invite St. John of the Cross into your dark night, ask Mother Teresa and St. Andre Bessette to help you make your life a miracle, keep Jesus company in prison, care for the sick with St. Guiseppe Moscati, go see a movie with our Blessed Mother!! Arrive after the previews so our Lady doesn't have to watch those. ;>)

Who are your favorite saints?  Which saints have reached out to you to lend a helping hand?  Who is  hoping at this very moment to become your newest friend and intercessor?

God wants YOU to become a saint, too!  Hanging out with other saints is a great way to become one.

Always remember that all the saints are pro-life, because they lived, loved, and served in imitation of Christ.

God, the Creator of Life, is pro-life.  Are you?

Fishing With JKP's Publishing Team

Work continues on many different projects at Joseph Karl Publishing.  Our webmaster, Ted Lang from Advantage Information Systems, continues to built its all new website, which will debut within the next several weeks.  Since things change very rapidly around here, it will continue to be a work in progress as the team fulfills our heavenly assignments, for you, as they are given.

The short video "The Sacrament of Christ's Peace," an inspiring work that celebrates the Sacrament of Reconciliation, will be wrapped up next week after Chere Sanborn Bernhard's voiceover is recorded and integrated with the images and the music.  That video will be posted on YouTube, Facebook, GodTube, iCatholic, and on various blogs very soon.

Servant of God, Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J.

Work continues on the creation of the trailer for the documentary film on the life and legacy of Servant of God, Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J.  Fr. Hardon continues to lead souls to Christ by helping the team develop the brochure and official material for the pro-life movement True Love Leads To Life.  That material will also be integrated into the pro-life book God Moments III:  True Love Leads To Life, which will be published in the fall of 2012.

As the stories for that compilation are completed, they are shared individually on the internet to reach as many people as possible with God's pro-life message.  Joseph Karl Publishing thanks everyone who has shared the pro-life stories and images with others.  Together, let's love, role-model, and educate an end to legalized abortion and euthanasia around the world.

The two most recent stories from the book come from Fr. Benjamin Kosnac, pastor, and Fr. Luigi Gabris, associate pastor, of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan.  Fr. Luigi's story is still being written, and may be used in a second book, a pro-life picture book for children.

Here is Fr. Ben's story, which reminds us that every single life is loved into being by God, and is to be accepted, loved and valued by us: "Are You Seriously Considering Having This Baby?"

Award-winning graphic designer Roseann Nieman of Niemanart Graphics continues her work designing the cover of Paul A. Ray's life-changing book, A New Voice For A Broken Soul, which is nearing completion.

Catholic images are added to JKP's galleries daily, and its newest picture gallery on Pinterest now has 145 pictures.  Soon, favorite images will be developed into posters and made available in various sizes.  Other beautiful images will be made available free for downloading, sharing, and using to honor God and serve one another.  There will be Catholic images as well as Catholic pro-life images.

Litany For A Good Death

Litany For A Good Death

O Lord Jesus, God of goodness and Father of mercies,
I draw nigh to Thee with a contrite and humble heart;
to Thee I recommend the last hour of my life,
and that judgment which awaits me afterwards,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my feet, benumbed with death,
shall admonish me that my course in this life is drawing to an end,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my hands, cold and trembling,
shall no longer be able to clasp the Crucifix,
and shall let it fall against my will on my bed of suffering,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my eyes, dim with trouble at the approach of death,
shall fix themselves on Thee, my last and only support,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my lips, cold and trembling,
shall pronounce for the last time Thy adorable Name,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my face, pale and livid,
shall inspire the beholders with pity and dismay;
when my hair, bathed in the sweat of death,
and stiffening on my head,
shall forebode my approaching end,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my ears, soon to be for ever shut to the discourse of men,
shall be open to the irrevocable decree which is to fix my doom for all eternity,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my imagination, agitated by dreadful specters,
shall be sunk in an abyss of anguish; when my soul,
affrighted with the sight of my iniquities and the terrors of Thy judgment,
shall have to fight against the Angel of darkness,
who will endeavor to conceal from my eyes Thy mercies,
and to plunge me into despair,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my poor heart, oppressed with suffering
and exhausted by its continual struggles with the enemies of its salvation,
shall feel the pangs of death,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When the last tear, the forerunner of my dissolution,
shall drop from my eyes, receive it as a sacrifice of expiation for my sins;
grant that I may expire the victim of penance;
and then in that dreadful moment,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my friends and relations, encircling my bed,
shall be moved with compassion for me,
and invoke Thy clemency in my behalf,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When I shall have lost the use of my senses;
when the world shall have vanished from my sight;
when my agonizing soul shall feel the sorrows of death,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When my soul, trembling on my lips,
shall bid adieu to the world, and leave my body lifeless, pale and cold,
receive this separation as a homage in that last moment of my mortal life,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

When at length my soul, admitted to Thy presence,
shall first behold the splendor of Thy Majesty,
reject it not, but receive me into Thy bosom,
where I may for ever sing Thy praises,

Merciful Jesus, have mercy on me.

Let us Pray.

O God, Who hast doomed all men to die,
but hast concealed from all the hour of their death,
grant that I may pass my days in the practice of holiness and justice,
and that I may be made worthy to quit this world,
in the embrace of Thy love.
Through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who liveth and reigneth with Thee
in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

"The Sacrament of Christ's Peace"

Work continues on Apostolate Films' short video on the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

While The Majesty of Holy Mass http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yCtqyhK494k is approximately six minutes long and is comprised of 83 still images and three video clips acquired during three Holy Masses, seven voiceovers, and two musical tracks, The Sacrament of Christ's Peace will be under four minutes, and will be comprised of all still images (the number is still to be determined), one musical track, and two voiceovers.  Apostolate Films promises that viewers will be delighted by the ending!

The Sacrament of Christ's Peace will debut within the next several weeks.

"My dear children, let nothing undermine your confidence in God, not even shame for your sins. We all know we are weak. After all, you don’t go to confession to tell your miracles! And the confessor certainly doesn’t think that you are impeccable. You’d laugh if he did! Courage then, my children! With one word you can escape hell and win Heaven. It takes so little. The confessor will help you."

~ St. John Bosco

When St. John Bosco was a boy,
his mother made it a point to tell him
how important it was to not hold anything back
when he went to confession.

Remember to speak to God directly, intimately, and honestly
during the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

God is so in love with you!

His mercy is available to each and every one of us,
without exception.

Use the following prayer as a guide to help you
come up with your very own.

A Reconciliation Prayer

Oh sweet Author of Life,
Your pardon I seek as I kneel before Your Cross.
Lord, forgive me.
Immerse me in Your compassion,
for I have so little to offer you.
Even my petition for forgiveness comes from You.

You long for my approach, though wounded,
so generously willing to exchange human iniquity
with the Love that annihilates and saves,
when the soul but accepts Your invitation.

I give my nothingness entirely to You.

Divine Justice have mercy on me,
and may all my brothers and sisters benefit also,
especially those most in need of Your saving grace.
Blood of Christ wash over me,
and transform my self into You.
Make of me the mirror
that reflects Your love to Your beloved.

I thank You for Your sacrifice and invitation,
for Your patience while awaiting my response,
as I seek Your will
while You encourage me to make my own choices.

For lovingly creating, guiding, and consoling me,
for all You have generously given me,
including the grace to recognize
that which on my own I cannot see.

For allowing me to lose, that I may win.
For giving me the opportunity to journey with You
along Your Way of the Cross.

I accept Your love,
and return to You my heart united with Yours
along with my obedience.

I thank You for everything, Thy Will be done,
and petition You to fill this dry well
with Your Divine Presence.
Amen.
