CHANDLER, AZ (March 19, 2011) – The judges of the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards contest, which recognizes excellence in literature, have spoken, and One Man’s Journey to Freedom, Escape From Behind the Iron Curtain, written by Gene X. Kortsha, has won four awards, in the memoir, historical non-fiction, new author, and cover design categories. Sharing in the celebration are Joseph Karl Publishing, which was honored with nine book awards overall, as well as cover designers Roseann Nieman of Niemanart Graphics and George Piliouras of George Piliouras and Associates.
“Winning any place in the Royal Dragonfly Contest is a huge honor because in order to maintain the integrity of the Dragonfly Book Awards, a minimum score is required before a 1st or 2nd place or Honorable Mention will be awarded to the entrant – even if it is the sole entry in a category,” explains Linda Radke, president of Five Star Publications, the sponsor of the Dragonfly Book Awards. “In addition, the competition is steep, because there is no publication date limit as long as the book is still in print.”
The miraculous story of One Man’s Journey to Freedom: Escape From Behind the Iron Curtain provides a gripping, powerfully moving account of the heroic resistance against the destruction of humanitarian principles and persecution behind the Iron Curtain, and reminds us that history could repeat itself at any time and in any place. The book is available in paperback, retails for $23.95, and can be purchased at www.josephkarlpublishing.com and www.amazon.com. Those looking for exceptional quality, life-changing reading can also ask for the book at their favorite store and library.
