The Summons We All Share

"I want you to do more."

It was approximately five or six years ago when I received my formal pro-life summons from God. When did you receive yours? Think you haven't yet? Well get ready, for every single one of us is being summoned RIGHT NOW! The new global pro-life movement True Love Leads to Life has begun!

I was formally summoned when my three children were elementary school age; I was a very busy single mother writing my first book while starting a new Catholic publishing company. This particular summons was quite unanticipated, as were the ones that preceded it and the ones that followed it. They all make so much sense today. God is incredibly intelligent! The day it came, I was standing in the living room by my computer reading a letter from Priests for Life.

Who can fathom the ways of God, who knows all things, loves and values us beyond measure, the One whose timing is always perfect. Considering that my summons came at such a busy time in my life has me convinced that this summons is of utmost importance, and it is.

I was standing somewhat off to the side of the desk, reading the letter in my hand, when all of a sudden I heard very clearly, "I want you to do more." I knew for certain that this summons involved pro-life work and that my cooperation was needed. Each of our responses are vital. Naturally, having absolutely no idea what to do more of, I responded, "What do you want me to do, exactly?"

There was no immediate response. I was very curious and really wanted an answer right then, but the specifics were not provided, not yet. Instead, God prepared me at that moment for the assignments that were coming.

When God summons us, we must respond and then remain open to His will as circumstances unfold and as we listen for His guidance and inspirations. Often, things are revealed over time and during prayer. I received the most guidance and information during Holy Mass and during Eucharistic Exposition and Adoration, and eventually my many questions were answered, one by one. Clearly, God wants the killing stopped. As a means to this end, He founded a new pro-life movement which is to compliment and also work together with other pro-life organizations that have already accomplished and continue to accomplish great things for humanity.

Early on it was clear that the new movement would be called True Love Leads to Life. It is a wonderful title, for true love leads to life not only here on earth, but true love leads to eternal life as well. This is a movement led by Jesus Christ in obedience to God's will that mankind end legalized abortion and euthanasia everywhere.

Currently the Board of Directors is working on the official mission statement and on the brochure, which will be made available for downloading and sharing. As we do so, I often reflect on that pivotal moment years ago when God said, "I want you to do more." The movement has already begun, and the formal announcement will be made soon. Every single member of the human family is now being summoned to actively participate in protecting the lives of all of our brothers and sisters by ending legalized abortion and euthanasia everywhere.

We find ourselves at a very crucial moment in human history. We are closer to ending abortion than many of us think. We find ourselves at a defining moment when we must choose to either side with God and respect life or to defy Him. We have the opportunity to accomplish His will and end legalized killing. If we do not, humanity will be brought to its knees as Divine Justice beckons us to restore God's moral order, for our own eternal benefit. Either way, something is coming. I do not suggest this has to be a cataclysmic event; it could be humanity will be brought to its knees literally by a mass conversion of the human heart.

There is no doubt that it is the Author of Life's will that we choose to respect and peacefully defend every person's right to life, from conception until natural death. He has already been present to witness the brutal killing of tens of millions of innocent unborn children since abortion became legal in countries around the world. We cannot even fathom what it has been like for God to have witnessed humanity refusing to be open to life and/or rejecting His gifts of life so many times and for so long. Tens of millions of times He was there as the moral order He established for our eternal benefit and for our happiness was rejected and as a result, innocent people were denied the right to live. What are we doing. True love leads to life.

Rest assured that there is no situation in which God is absent, and that God can make good come out of even the most tragic circumstances. He is always seeking our greater good, He remains with us, always beckoning us to recognize His love, accept it, love Him in return, accept His mercy, reverence His judgments, and share His love with everyone we encounter. "Come closer," He tells us. "Ascend higher!" True love leads to life.

One of the goals of True Love Leads to Life is to encourage and remind people to pray for and also role model an end to abortion. Another goal is to educate an end to abortion. As a means to this end, we will be compiling and presenting material that demonstrates concisely what God said with regard to the sanctity of life and why He created rules for us to live by. We also have established a pro-life picture gallery that encourages people to rethink what abortion truly means to individuals, families, communities, nations, and also our global community. We will continue to develop more pictures and make them available to you for copying and sharing.

We will also share some practical ways you can help end legalized abortion and euthanasia during the course of your regular daily activities, ways that will also help you grow in holiness but won't tax already busy schedules. We will also suggest things you can do that perhaps you have never even considered before or never thought had value. We will provide practical, meaningful, and helpful suggestions for people of all ages, from the home bound to the very active. It will all make so much sense, we promise.

The fallout from tens of millions of abortions has led to a colossal, global humanitarian disaster that for many exists suppressed just beneath a fragile veneer. Despite what people have been told by the abortion industry, help that kills isn't help at all and killing a child as a means to an end destroys people. By sheer numbers, the need for help, recovery, and healing is staggering.

And so, another vital facet of True Love Leads to Life is to reach out to those suffering from the after-affects of abortion. All those who chose to have an abortion, those who were forced, coerced, or misled to abort, those who encouraged others to abort and those who actively participated in the abortion process, as well as family members and friends who lost a loved one to abortion are all in need of various forms of healing. They will receive loving encouragement to seek out and accept the assistance they need to properly heal and to restore purpose, hope, and joy to their lives. True love leads to life.

Pam Stenzel, Protector Of Youth

We were captivated, educated, and absolutely delighted to hear so much truth spoken with great love and respect for all of humanity.


One day toward the end of spring, I received an e-mail notification that said Pam Stenzel would be speaking on abstinence at our local high school. Immediately I knew this was something that would be beneficial to my children, two high school age sons and a middle-school age daughter. The purpose of the talk was to to challenge and inspire today's youth to understand the values of personal responsibility, self discipline and character.

As a psychologist, mother, single parent, and pro-life advocate, I know very well the challenges of raising three children in a culture that does not value morality, chastity, and self mastery as much as it values self-centeredness, materialism, and disobedience. Our society has been lured by the global marketing machine into ignorance of what is of real value to our mortal and eternal lives. We tend to seek the roads most appealing to our fallen human nature, often the easiest roads possible, and we buy many lies, literally and figuratively. The consequences for ourselves and for others are eternal, and that is why we should care, starting immediately.

We will not acquire morality unless we practice morality, and the name of Pam's presentation immediately set the tone for the evening: Sex Has A Price Tag. Our culture would be wise to value chastity, purity, modesty, loyalty, and abstinence, because we as individuals, and members of families, communities, nations, and a global community all benefit when they are encouraged and practiced. We value morality when we have a close and personal relationship with God. Establishing close union with Him and following His Commandments are the very best choice each of us can possibly make now, ever, forever.

The night of the event we drove to the school, wondering what to expect. Friends and I had spoken over the phone earlier and pooled our knowledge, but still were not quite sure exactly what would be discussed and what ages the talk would be appropriate for.

I made the decision to take all three of my children with me. As we walked from the parking lot to the school auditorium the evening of the event, I scanned the people who were also making their way to the building. The crowd consisted mostly of parents, but there were also a good number of high schoolers. We did not see any children who were my middle school daughter's age. Still not knowing what to expect, I joked with Alyssa as we continued toward the school, "Walk taller!"

Wow, did Pam deliver! As she said many times that night, she has heard it from young people so many times through the years: "I wish someone had told me." Knowledge is empowering, and she sure empowered the audience. I laughed, took lots of notes, and several times was moved to tears by what Pam said. She challenged parents to love their children and equip them with the truth. What a rarity it is to go to a public place and hear so much truth spoken with such candor and caring.

We LOVED every minute of it! So did every other parent I spoke with after Pam's presentation. If only her words were brought to every middle school and high school and into every home. If only.

Our society is in the midst of a colossal, unprecedented moral crisis. Repercussions from the immoral behavior of people of all ages are being felt around the entire world, and our spiritual, emotional, and physical welfare is being affected. We are morally responsible for teaching our children right from wrong, and it is also our moral responsibility as parents and grandparents to be living witnesses of holiness for our children and also for countless others. As Pam stated so poignantly, it is the parent's job to parent their children, and the current generation of parents is dropping the ball, seriously.

The problem is so many people no longer know the truth from the lies marketed to us by companies that are making a lot of money selling us products that promise us results without responsibility. From the pharmaceutical companies to contraceptive manufacturers and providers to the abortion industry, we are being conned into believing that irresponsible behavior leads to happiness and if we literally buy their lies, we can behave any way we choose and no one will get hurt. The truth is that people do get hurt, some of the consequences are permanent, and businesses profit financially from our ignorance.

As Pam said, "If you have sex outside of marriage, you will pay." Several times she reinforced the fact that as far as relationships go, ultimately "You get what you are." She also reminded us "You can't take back an abortion, " informed us that "Abortion doesn't fix anything, it destroys people; contraception doesn't always avoid pregnancy, and it doesn't prevent disease."

She immediately pointed out that many people focus on a potential pregnancy when considering sex outside of marriage, while a colossal risk factor is not even considered (often because people incorrectly believe that artificial contraception can prevent them): acquiring a sexually transmitted disease. These diseases make people sick, people spread them unaware and also aware that they have them, they can lead to infertility, some of them cannot be cured, and some of them are fatal. Yes, sex can come with a very heavy price tag, and so many people, young and not-so-young, have never learned the information they need to make the right choices.

Sex Has A Price Tag should be shown in every middle school, high school, and college, regularly.

Pam's Biography

Seven years ago Pam Stenzel grew weary of hearing the phrase, NOBODY TOLD ME!! After years of counseling young girls who found themselves in crisis pregnancies, Pam began to realize that so many were completely unaware of the risks involved with sexual activity, and that many had never been told about all the consequences of their choices. That was the inception of Pam's life as a speaker, but Pam Stenzel's story started years earlier.

In 1964 a fifteen-year-old girl was raped, became pregnant, and decided to carry her unborn child to term. Five months after the baby girl was born, in an act of courage and love the young mother provided her child a better environment by giving her to an adoptive family. That child was Pam Stenzel. She is the oldest of 8 children… 7 adopted…1 biological, and her extended family includes 38 adopted children in all.

Following her graduation from Liberty University with a degree in Psychology, Pam moved to Minneapolis, MN where she began to work with New Life Family Services, and young girls who were planning to place their children for adoption.

Pam was approached by a group of concerned parents, to develop a two-hour program for the Rally for Life 1992, a conference on sexual abstinence. She developed the program by mixing media and music, her own talk, and the testimonies of young girls. The response of students, parents and the community was so overwhelming that Pam began to get numerous requests to speak all over the Midwest.

In 1993, Pam's talk Sex Has a Price Tag was produced as a video. No one was prepared for the explosive response. Pam's speaking requests were so numerous that she decided to go on the speaking circuit full time. "Sex Has a Price Tag" has since been translated into 11 languages, won the Charleston Film Festival Award in 1995, and is currently used in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Australia, Ireland, Europe, the Ukraine, Romania, Poland, and throughout Africa.

In 1998 Vision Video and Gateway Films produced the film series "Sex, Love and Relationships" in Santa Monica, California. It won the Crown Award for Curriculum of the Year in November 1999.

Pam's current videography includes: "Time To Wait For Sex," "Sex Has A Price Tag 2000," "Character Matters" (a video for parents) "Sex, Love & Relationships," and "Take A Look In The Mirror" (a video for girls only).

The talk I heard was about abstinence. Teens in our times need to know that they have to keep sexual behavior inside marriage. I liked this talk a lot; Mrs. Stenzel made us laugh some times; a kid in 6th grade is not too young to hear what she has to say. I think we have to know what we should do; if we do not know what the right thing is, that means we may do the wrong thing. People need to know abortion is wrong or they may be convinced to kill their kids by abortion, and those kids could be the next Pope or a saints. Go to this talk with your kids.

Pam Stenzel taught me about the importance of avoiding sexually transmitted diseases. She also told us to be careful of our actions. She handed out pamphlets that teach about the benefits of waiting to have sex. She discussed behavior that is right and behavior that is wrong. I recently attended an abstinence talk by the brilliant speaker Pam Stenzel. Mrs.Stenzel was very enthusiastic, comical at times, and informative. The talk inspired me to live a life that pleases God and makes me happy. Throughout the talk she mentioned surprising facts and stories of people Mrs.Stenzel has met with in the past. She has traveled all around the world and teaches people about abstinence. I was very lucky to attend her talk. Everyone should hear her talk, but even if you can’t because she hasn't been in your town, go to her website. Her website has many helpful things on it including an enlightening online course that I am starting. So please look at her work, she is very experienced and knowledgeable. Remember that this is for you and abstaining from sex until marriage it is what is best for you.

If you get a chance to see Pam in person, go, and bring everyone you can with you. If you can bring her to your community, do it, and be sure to invite everyone. Pam delivers a message that no one should miss. No one.

Council Bluffs, IA - Pro-life supporters continue to fight to protect late-term babies from abortion in Iowa where abortionist LeRoy Carhart has vowed to open an abortion mill specializing in the grisly procedures. A rally will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 in support of the Iowa Fetal Pain Bill, HF 657, which is being held up by abortion supporters in the Senate.

Location: Westside of Bayliss Park, which is located right near city hall in downtown Council Bluffs

Speakers: House Reps. Hanusa, Brandendburg, Iowa Right to Life Executive Director Jenifer Bowen, Martin Cannon (lawyer from Omaha that defends pro-life legislation and helped draft the Nebraska law) and others.

The bill would ban abortions after 20 weeks, when late-term babies are known to feel pain. It is similar to a new law in Nebraska which successfully forced Carhart to move his late-term abortion business to Kansas. Carhart is now under a full investigation by the Maryland Board of Physicians that could result in the revocation in that state, making Iowa Carhart's next target state for late-term abortions.

The Fetal Pain bill passed easily in the Iowa House, but was assigned to a Senate committee that had no intention of bringing the bill out for a floor debate. Suing a rare maneuver, the majority of Senators filed a petition that forced the bill out of committee and onto the Senate calendar. However, the Senate manager has yet to call the bill up for a vote and hostile amendments threaten insure that it does not pass.

Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal, a pro-abortion Democrat, is from Council Bluffs and has been strongly pressured by his constituents, the Council Bluffs, Mayor, and the local paper to allow the bill an up or down vote. Gronstal has sent mixed messages about it, but appears to be stonewalling. Governor Terry Branstad has come out in support of the Fetal Pain bill, calling it "necessary." He promises to sign it, if passed.

"We urge everyone in the Council Bluffs area to attend this important rally and let the politicians in Des Moines know that the will of the people is to protect life," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "If this bill fails, the blood of untold innocent babies will be on the hands of those who prevented this common sense protection for late-term babies for going through."

Even if you do not live in Iowa, your voice is needed. Carhart solicits late-term abortion customers from every state, so this bill could affect someone you love.

Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal and the rest of the Iowa Senate urgently need to hear from you! Ask them to allow floor debate and an up or down vote on HF 657, the Fetal Pain bill.
