Friendship With Jesus

Pope Benedict XVI Speaks to Children on Their First Holy Communion.

If you are looking for a keepsake book to present to a child with a charming storyline, beautiful and uplifting message, and visual appeal, this gorgeous book is a perfect choice.

I had the privilege of meeting Ann Kissane Engelhart at the International Catholic Marketing Network Trade Show in Valley Forge, PA in August. What a thrill to go through this visually stunning book with the artist who created the beautiful watercolor images. Ann autographed a book for my children and spoke to us about how this special book, edited by children's author Amy Welborn, came to be.

From the website, http://www.annkissaneengelhart.com:

"Friendship With Jesus: Pope Benedict XVI Speaks to Children on their First Holy Communion. This little book was based on a meeting that the Holy Father had with the children of Rome who had recently received the sacrament. I was struck by the way in which the Pope answered the questions that all children have.

"He articulated profound ideas, but on a level a that a young child could understand, and as in the case of all his teachings, points them toward the joy and peace we find in friendship with Jesus, our Lord.

"Amy Welborn, the well-known author and blogger, introduces Pope Benedict’s beautiful dialogue with children and I have provided the watercolor illustrations.

"We hope that the Holy Father’s wisdom will help children and their families grow in love as they begin their extraordinary adventure of faith."

Friendship With Jesus is available in hardcover, has 32 pages, and was published by Catholic Truth Society, publisher to the Holy See in England.

I absolutely love Ann's exceptional pictures, especially the exquisite watercolor images of the monstrance and censer.

Ann hopes that children and adult readers alike experience “a greater understanding of the sacrament of Holy Communion," and come to see the Eucharist as part of their friendship with Jesus, leading them to remain close to Him always.

Friendship with Jesus: Pope Benedict XVI Speaks to Children on Their First Holy Communion makes a lovely gift for Christmas, First Holy Communion, and is a beautiful celebration of Catholicism for any occasion.
